Chairman, Northern States Governors Forum and Governor of Niger state, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has called on aggrieved staff of New Nigerian Newspaper (NNN) to exercise patience and expect solution of their challenges soon.

Aliyu, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Israel Ebije, expressed optimism the challenges faced by the print media organization will soon be a thing of the past. He however said it is going to be systematically approached through strategic planning.

He urged the workers to eschew actions or comments targeted at rubbishing efforts of Northern Governors or politicizing it adding that the forum is not only concerned about the predicament of management and staff of New Nigerian but also deeply involved in solving the unfortunate situation caused by age long financial problems.

The forum Chairman, who was reacting to a press statement issued by striking workers of New Nigerian Newspaper Thursday, said: “We are not oblivious of the fact that New Nigerian Newspaper is one of the legacies Sir Ahmadu Bello left behind. While it is incumbent on us to sustain it, it is indeed a task that we have been committed to and we are confident the challenges will soon be over.”

“Let me therefore ask the management and staff of New Nigerian Newspaper to be a little patient. We are exploring every means possible to reposition the print media organization. All we need however is their support and confidence. We are indeed poised towards changing the fortunes of the paper for the best.”
