A Group of Northern youths yesterday stormed some major streets in kaduna demanding immediate end to banditry, terrorism and kidnappings in the region.
The youths under the auspices of Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) marched from Muhammadu Buhari Way to the State House of Assembly through Ali Akilu road and later stormed Kaduna State House of Assembly Complex.
They said, though they are against the reported harassment of citizens by the operatives of the disbanded SARS, the North’s problem is not SARS, but insecurity.
CNG therefore urged the Federal Government to deploy operatives of the disbanded SARS to combat kidnapping, armed banditry and terrorism in Northern Nigeria.
Leader of the protesting youths, Sa’ad Bako, emphasized that, the major challenge of Northern Nigeria is security challenges, occasioned by incessant killings by bandits and terrorists, as well as kidnappers who abduct people at home and on the road and farms for ransom.
