Ahead of the 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL season, new comers, Jigawa Golden Stars Club have place ten players on transfer from the current squad as they begin a new quest in the elite league.
Jigawa Golden Stars alongside Adamawa United, Akwa Starlets and Warri Wolves all secured premier league promotion after the conclusion of the 2018/19 Nigeria National League, NNL Super 8 last month.
In a statement made available to the media by the team’s manager, Alhaji Issa Dodo it further noted that the club retained the services of 20 players adding that the management will be in the transfer market to replace the sacked players.
Alhaji Issa noted that the players sacked were thrown out due to poor performances after due analyses by the management and wished the affected players the best of luck in their future endeavours.
“A decision was made after rigorous meeting with the team head coach, head of scout and the back-room staff.
“We used each player’s performance data during the last season to see if they will be able to continue with us or not.
“We wish the affected players best of luck in their future endeavours,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the management has asked the retained players to proceed on Sallah break and report back to camp on 16th or 17th of this month.

Players are advised to return to the club camp on the 16th/17th of August for the preparation for the new Nigeria Professional Football League 2019/2020 season.
