NSCDC marks Day with 87 newly recruits in Niger

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has marked this year’s international day with the enrollment of no fewer than 87 newly recruited personnel into the corps in Niger state.
The Niger state Commandant of the Corps, Joachin Okafor made this known during the passing out parade of the newly recruited officers and commemoration of 2024 International Civil Defence Day held in Minna, Niger state capital.
Okafor reaffirmed that the new recruitment would boost manpower strength of the corps and facilitate the fight against crimes and criminalities in the country.
He said the personnel have received six months vigorous training and have been satisfied to bear arms and participate in every national assignment they’re assigned to in the protection of national assets and security of lives.
The state NSCDC boss charged the graduating personnel to exhibit diligence, discipline devoid of corruption tendencies in carrying out their mandates in the interest of the nation.
He explained that this year’s International Day of Civil Defence with the theme ‘Honour Heroes and Promote Safety Skills’ was aimed at raising awareness about the importance of civil defence measures in protecting people and their properties from natural disasters, accidents and other emergencies as well as to recognize the organization’s efforts in the protection of lives and properties of Nigerians.
In his remarks, retired Deputy Commander General DCG, Gladious Yakubu advised the newly recruite to immediately start saving for their retirement to ensure they are contented and have job satisfaction as government will provide all that is needed in carrying out their duties during their service years.
