The Niger State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended 2 heavy duty trucks containing vandalized railway slippers and tracks worth millions of naira, at Mokwa local government of the state.
The state commandant Joachim Okafor disclosed, in a statement made available to journalists in Minna, noted that one of the vehicle laden with suspected vandalized railway slippers while the other carried railway tracks both on transit to a yet to know location.
Okafor described as the activities of economic saboteurs on federal government Infrastructural facilities that is unacceptable, adding that when the suspects sighted there men the drivers took to their heels, abandoning the vehicles suspecting they are associates.
He stated that based on marchi order of the Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi directive the command have intensify surveillance and security watch all over critical national assets and infrastructure across the country.
The Commandant explained that the case is under investigation and if the owners of the two trailer truck refused to show up, they will be confiscated in court. Assured of synergy with other security agencies in securing the nation.
He lamented over lack of operational vehicles in the state and warned those involved in the destroying of public facilities and utilities to desist from such act of face the full wrath of the law.
