Niger state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has unveiled 270 number of special weapon handling female squad trained to complement insecurity challenges facing the country and the state.
The Commandant of the Command, Ahmed Mohammed Dandare also unveiled the Female Armed Squad in the command during the Passing Out Parade of the trained personnel in Minna, Niger State.
Mohammed Dandare revealed that the Female Armed Squad were trained to complement the male counterpart in the fight against abduction of school children in schools in the state.
He said female squads were also trained on different techniques to engage in rescue operations, weapon handling, VIP protection, intelligence gathering and tips to tackle sexual gender base violence.
