NUC Approves 12 New Programmes for Kachia Federal University of Applied Sciences
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of twelve additional academic programmes for the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK), Kaduna State.
A statement by the University said that the newly approved programmes are Crop Science, Animal Science, Fisheries, Community Health Science, Doctor of Physiotherapy, Landscape Architecture, Furniture Design, Artificial Intelligence, Entrepreneurship, Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, and Nuclear Science.
The approval brings the total number of academic programmes to 30 across its various faculties, including Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Computing, Pharmacy, Environmental Sciences, Sciences, Architecture, and Agriculture.
The statement said that the development marks another major milestone in the university’s growth and its commitment to providing quality education in science, technology, health, agriculture, and innovation-driven disciplines.
Meanwhile, the university has released the minimum admission scores for its programmes, with Medicine and Surgery requiring 240, Nursing Science 220, Pharmacy 200, while most other programmes have a minimum benchmark of 170.
The approval is expected to expand access to higher education opportunities, strengthen research and innovation, and contribute to the development of skilled manpower for Nigeria’s economy.
