NUJ lauds Bauchi council for training 100 journalists on ICT

The Deputy National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhaji Muktar Gidado has commended the leadership of Bauchi state council for training 100 members on application of ICT and modern journalism.
Gidado made the commendation on Wednesday at NUJ secretariat Bauchi during the inauguration of 3 standing committee appointed by the state council.
The three committees are Ethic and disciplinary Commitee headed by the Managing Director of Bauchi State Television Authority Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Shall, while the Education committee headed by Sani Muazu, state Information chapel and Press Centre Management committee is headed by Ahmed Kaigama who is also the Secretary of Correspondent Chapel Bauchi.
He said 50 members of NUJ were trained in July 2017 in collaboration with Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi on ICT and modern Journalism adding the the training of 2nd batch of 50 members will come up 31st October 2017
The National Deputy President said the training of the members will go a long way to enable discharge their duties effectively.
On the newly inaugurated committees, Gidado charged the committee members on hardworking, accountability and transparency while discharging their duties..He said their appointment were based on their track record urging them not to disappoint the confidence repose in them.
Speaking earlier, the state Chairman of NUJ, Ibrahim Mallam Goje said the appointment of the committees is in line with the provision of NUJ onstitution.
He said the committees will support the leadership of the council in developing journalism profession adding that the ethics and dicplinary committee will work towards flushing out quacks in the state which he lamented has infiltrated journalism profession.
Mallam Goje then advised the education committee to partner with developmental partners to introduce more educational programs for the benefit of the members.
