Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Niger state council, has concluded arrangement to commence its annual Press Week today, Wednesday 24th to Saturday, September 27,2014.
According to the plan for the event, tagged: “Niger 2014 Press Week”, it will be held under the chairmanship of Mohammed Babangida, the Director of El- Amin Foundation, which would hold at IBB Pen House, Minna, with the theme: “Democratic Dispensation in Nigeria: The Way Forward”.
Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, of Niger state, will be the Chief Host and the National President of NUJ, Comrade Mohammed Garba will host the event, while Comrade Shehu Sani, the Chairman Civil Right Congress, would be the Guest Speaker.
The Niger State council Chairman of NUJ, Comrade Iliya Garba assured that, with the wealth of experience of the Speaker, the journalists would be kept abreast withe the political situation of the country and would be guided on their operations.
Iliya reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensure ethical practice and professionalism by members of the Union in the state, devoid of quackery amongst the members at all time, while he prayed for smooth and success of the event.
