NULGE empowers 380 Edo women

The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Edo state chapter has empowered 380 women across four area councils in the state.
The four Local Government Areas include, Oredo, Ikpoba-OkhaEdo North East, Etsako West and the women were trained on soap making, candle, powder, germicide, vaseline gel, lotion cream, balm ointment, olive oil, air freshener and perfume among others.
The state president of the Union, Comrade Young Edward Ilenikhena, disclosed this at the flag-off ceremony of the Union Women Empowerment Training Programme under its poverty eradication programme held at the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Secretariat, on Wednesday.
The two-day training programme which started yesterday (January 17-18, 2018) was declared opened by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Jimoh Ijegbai, while the chairman, Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) was represented by Joseph Osadolor.
In his address, the Commissioner whose goodwill message on the occasion was delivered by an official in the Ministry, Peter Ayokhai, lauded the initiative of the Union leaders in training women.
The NULGE boss, clarified said the second phase would be for men who would be trained in agro-allied and other entrepreneurial products.
