Numan council bans tricycle operations

The Native Authorities of Numan local government Area in Adamawa state has announced ban on all commercial activities by tricycles popularly known as “Keke Nappep” in Numan town indefinitely.
Executive Chairman of the council, Mr. Innocent Koto disclosed the position in a mobile phone interview at the weekend.
He stressed that the ban was informed by last Friday’s break down of law and order as a result of a clash between members of ACOMORAN and NURTW commercial Tricycles Unions in Numan.
Mr.Koto said intelligence report at the council’s disposal has revealed that the crisis between the two rivalry commercial Tricycle operators unions has created tension among residents in the town as some were injured and property destroyed.
