In order to enhance productivity amongst its members, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has distributed 5 Sharon vehicles to the Western zonal branches comprising of Kokona , Nasarawa , Toto, Keffi and Karu Local Government Councils respectively.
Chairman of Nasarawa state chapter of the Union, Alhaji Muhammadu Maikwariya, who spoke at the presentation during its monthly meeting held in Lafia, the state capital at the weekend, charged members to work in harmony for the progress of the union.
He expressed appreciation to the state government for the cordial relationship that is being experienced as well as assured their continued loyalty to governor Sule’s administration in the state and president Tinubu.
He also appealed to the branch members across the state to always embrace their respective passengers at this period of hardship, saying that they should desist from over charging of Transportation fare and act that maybe contrary to the Union’s policy.
“I call on you members to unite and give the new leadership in the state the desire support to carry out its responsibilities for the benefit of all. I am also assuring you that very soon other branches will benefit from the gesture across the state.
“We are in a critical situation in Nigeria. Treat your passengers as yourself. Adhere to the ethics of the union by extending kindness and love to anyone that comes your way as a passenger”, he stressed.
Maikwariya who also admonished people of the state to always embrace dialogue and live peacefully with one another in the state inorder to enable business activities to strive.
