The Nigeria Women Football League Secretariat on Monday disclosed that all the home games involving Osun Babes Football club in the 2021/2022 season will be played at the Lanre Leke Stadium, Ele Ogbo, Osun state.
The Chief Operating Officer of the NWFL, Modupe Shabi, the original home ground of Osun Babes, the Oshogbo Township stadium, Oshogbo has been unsuitable to host matches in the calibre of the NWFL Premiership.
She said in a statement signed in Abuja that: “Following the inspection of the Osogbo Township stadium, by the Nigeria Women Football League, we wish to inform you that the current state of the aforementioned stadium is not good enough to host any NWFL matches until it is hoped that necessary facilities are being effected on the stadium.
Consequently, the Osun Babes FC shall be playing their home matches at the Lanre Leke Stadium, Ele Ogbo.
The 2021/2022 Nigeria Women’s Premier League will start today across match centres.
