NYA urges youths to champion Nigeria’s future

Date:

The National Youth Alliance (NYA), has reaffirmed its unwavering support for a new generation of leaders to take responsibility for Nigeria’s future.

NYA made this known on Saturday in a communique issued at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) by Ms. Kurvie Oyibo,

National Publicity & Media Director.

It said the meeting, chaired by Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas, National Youth President, brought together National Officers, Zonal Coordinators, and State Representatives to review progress and set new strategic directions for the organization.

The Alliance called for a generational shift in governance, urging young Nigerians to rise, organize, and participate actively in reshaping the destiny of the nation.

“The NYA cautioned both the ruling government and opposition parties to desist from misguiding and manipulating Nigerian youth for selfish political interests. The Council emphasized that young people must not be used as instruments of violence, propaganda, or division, but as partners in nation-building.

“The NEC expressed deep concern over the worsening insecurity across the country and tasked the Federal Government to be proactive and strategic in tackling the crisis. The NYA called for stronger collaboration between security agencies, community stakeholders, and youth organizations to restore peace and stability nationwide.

“The Council condemned in strong terms the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its continuous refusal to register the National Youth Alliance as a political party, despite fulfilling all legal and constitutional requirements. The NYA described this act as a violation of the democratic rights of Nigerian youth and vowed to pursue all legitimate means to challenge the injustice.

“In light of the INEC impasse, the NEC resolved that the NYA will continue to operate as a national youth movement dedicated to birthing a new nation anchored on unity, justice, inclusion, and generational renewal. The Alliance reaffirmed its mission to empower young Nigerians for transformational leadership ahead of 2027 and beyond.

“The National Youth Alliance remains resolute in its vision to reclaim Nigeria for the next generation. The Council calls on all patriotic youth, civil society organizations, and citizens of goodwill to unite under the banner of hope, justice, and progress to build the Nigeria of our dreams.”
