As diplomatic paperwork is being concluded to repatriate Abubakar Sadiq Ogwuche, co-mastermind of the Nyanya Motor Park bombing in which scores of citizens died and hundreds wounded, the Federal

Government yesterday announced the arrest of his father retired Col. Agene Ogwuche.

Spokesperson for the Department of State Security Services (SSS), Ms. Marylyn Ogar stated this during the daily media briefing by the National Information Centre, at the National Orientation Agency in

Abuja, noting that the elder Ogwuche was arrested because he breached the bond, which he signed while taking his son’s bail in 2012.

Ogar said Abubakar Sadiq Ogwuche, a British-born Nigerian, was arrested on November 12, 2011, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on arrival from the UK on terrorism related charges but was released on Oct. 15, 2012, following intense pressure from human rights activists, who alleged human rights violation.

Also commenting on the senior Ogwuche’s arrest, Force Public Relations Officer CSP Frank Mbah said the retired military colonel would be made to answer for his inability to meet the bail bond which he signed pledging to produce his son when needed for questioning.

In his address, Director General of NOA, Mr. Mike Omeri gave the assurance once again, that the over 200 Chibok Government Secondary School girls still in the custody of Boko Haram terrorists would soon be brought back home to rejoin their families.
