The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said that henceforth, the scheme will be sponsoring Public Relation officers to attend the Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria Training School, the Nigeria Television Authority Television College as well as Nigeria Institute Public Relation training programmes for betterment of the nation development.

The Director of General of the Scheme, Brig Gen YD Ahmed who disclosed this yesterday at the protocol and press public officers workshop said that the management will soon embark on comprehensive upgrade of PR Units of the Scheme across the country with modern communication gadgets in line with prevailing technological demands of PR practice.

According to him, the equipping of the new studio for NYSC Television is ongoing. I expect relations officers to reciprocate these gestures with increased commitment to their duties and use the opportunity to implore them to deploy the available platforms for sensitization of serving and prospective Corps members on security consciousness.

In his remarks, director press and public relations, Mr. Eddy Megwa, said that the Theme of this year’s workshop “Managing and Enhancing Roles and Responsibilities of PR officers”. Press and Public Relations
gives the Reputation to NYSC as the Workshop will upgrade officers knowledge on contemporary practices in reputation management.

He added that, public relations officers are determined to leverage in the relationship with professional colleagues to widen their scope and vision in strategic communication, adaptive critical thinking, vigorous media drive for greater activities and contributions of the Scheme to national development.
