Taraba State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Ella Aji Williams has urged the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II corps members posted to the State, to attract positive change in their various places of primary assessment.
According to the coordinator, utilizing the skills acquired during the three weeks orientation would not only distinguish their service but also attract human development.
Mr. Williams stated during the closing ceremony of the orientation course in Jalingo that, the three weeks program was designed to instill discipline, and training in various skills, for corps members to be self reliance, and creators of life changing opportunities, and as well, foster unity.
“Over the past three weeks, you have undergone a rigorous transformative induction meticulously crafted to instill discipline, foster unity, and prepare you for the experiences of National service,” he said.
He added that from drills and civic education to entrepreneurship training and cultural immersion, they had shown resilience and adaptability.
Williams encouraged them to carry the values of integrity, diligence, humility, and selflessness into their host communities.
“Embrace your host communities with sincerity and respect. Immerse yourselves in meaningful engagements and make tangible contributions through your community development service projects.
“You are not merely participants in a programme; you are protagonists in the story of Nigeria’s progress,” he added.
Williams further thanked Governor Agbu Kefas for his support to youth development and national integration, noted that the state government’s partnership with NYSC ensured a smooth orientation exercise.
He commended camp officials, security agencies, and support staff for their role in the program’s success, and reminded corps members to prioritize their safety and cooperate with local authorities.
