Activist and critic, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly called veryDarkMan has said the poor performance of the current Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki will affect voters decision in returning the People’s Democratic Power (PDP) to power.
Otse noted that the state of infrastructure in Edo, especially roads is in shambles, adding that the current governor did not do his best.
According to him, the poor performance would affect the candidate of the PDP even as electorates would be affected by the performance of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Otse noted while he feels, the candidate of the PDP is not a bad person, the fact that party is busy with serious campaign meant that all is not well.
He expressed worry over the political situation in Edo State, particularly regarding Obaseki’s performance and the upcoming governorship election.
Otse noted that people are concerned about the candidate of Obaseki, as they feel his leadership hasn’t been satisfactory.
He argued that Obaseki hasn’t delivered on key issues like roads, job creation, and electricity, and that if he had performed well, there would be no need for him to campaign heavily.
Describing his personal frustration while using the roads in Edo, Otse said the poor state of the roads, adds to the overall dissatisfaction with the current administration.
He said people are afraid of what would become of the state given the prevailing performance in the state because the current leadership hasn’t done well for Edo State.
“Obaseki did not perform so people are afraid if his candidate will perform,” he said.
Otse noted that there are other set of people, who when considering the performance of the APC are afraid of the candidate the party.
