Delta State Government on Monday said it would exhaust all mechanisms for dialogue and peace building in addressing the agitation of oil communities in Delta State following the continued oil spillage including environmental degradation impact in the area.
The State Deputy Governor, Barr Kingsley Burutu Otuaro who spoke to Journalists in Asaba, said that oil spillage has become a recurring environmental disaster to the economic growth system within the riverine communities in Delta State.
“The recent spillage within the Escravos axis has prompted the Ijaws and Itskiris ethnic nationalities of Warri South and Warri South West to demand for more answers and response mechanism to the problem”.
According to him:” The State Government will ensure all griviances are addressed especially with the affected Communities and reach a common ground for the overall interest of the people that are involved.”
