Having subdued the Algerian ladies in a 3-0 aggregate score line in the second round of the 2020 Olympic football qualifiers, the Nigeria Super Falcons will battle Cote d’Ivoire senior women team in the 3rd round
The Ivorian women also recorded the same aggregate score line against their opponents, Mali in the previous stage. The Malians forced their host Ivory Coast to a scoreless draw in Abidjan after losing 3 -0 at home in Bamako in the second leg.
Falcons on its part, defeated Algeria 3-0 over the two legs in Algiers, Algeria where they won -2 and on Sunday at Agege stadium, Lagos defeated the Algeria ladies by alone goal.
Nigeria will be hoping to progress to the Olympic for the first time in 12 years but must navigate the strong Ivorian ladies over two-leg qualifiers.
The first leg match is scheduled for Abidjan on the 30th of September with return leg in Lagos Nigeria on October 4th, 2019.
