Omidiran hails Tinubu’s extension of Customs’ CG’s tenure

The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Honorable Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on the extension of his tenure by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for another six months.

Omidiran described the decision as a recognition of the CG’s exceptional leadership, dedication and contributions to national development.

Hon. Omidiran, in a congratulatory message on Monday, said the extension reflects the confidence reposed in CG Adeniyi’s ability to continue driving reforms, strengthening institutional efficiency and advancing the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.

According to her, “The extension of your tenure is a testament to your outstanding leadership, dedication and the remarkable progress recorded under your stewardship of the Nigeria Customs Service. “Your commitment to reforms, accountability and service delivery has continued to inspire confidence among Nigerians and stakeholders,” Hon. Omidiran said.

The FCC Chairman, in a statement on Monday in Abuja by Ademola Lawrence, Spokesperson of the FCC, appreciated the Customs boss for his, professionalism, commitment to transparency, improved revenue generation, trade facilitation and efforts toward enhancing border security, noting that these achievements have positively impacted Nigeria’s economic growth and national interests.

The former federal lawmaker further recounted the important role of the Nigeria Customs Service in supporting government policies, facilitating legitimate trade and contributing to economic stability through efficient operations and innovation.

“As you commence this renewed phase of your service, I wish you greater wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance. May your extended tenure bring further achievements and lasting contributions to the growth and prosperity of Nigeria,” she concluded
