The Ondo State Government yesterday said it was happy that the recently concluded Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA) was adjudged peaceful by both participants and organisers.

Bekekhimi Idhiarhi, Commissioner for Youth and Sports development said this in an interview with newsmen in Akure.

Idhiarhi added that nothing bad was recorded during the concluded event, saying that,”The game has come and gone peacefully.

“Our state is a hub of sporting activities and we thank God we recorded no rancour, or casualty as everything was put in place.”

The Commissioner however promised that the state edition of the public service games would be an annual event.

Idhiarhi was however grateful to the organisers for allowing the state to participate and the state becoming the first state to win medals in the tournament.

The hosting states were always allowed to participate in FEPSGA, but none had in no time won a medal untill this 33rd edition that Ondo did.

The medals came as gold in the Female handball event and a bronze in scrabble (Male).

However, The State Head of Service, Barr. Toyin Akinkuotu thanked Gov. Olusegun Mimiko for the provision on necessary support to make the programme a success.

He said the Ondo State version of the service games would be an annual event.
