Opposition political parties in Niger state have bemoan Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and his deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba as government activities paralyzed as vacuum created in the violation of the section 190 (1) of the 1999 constitution as amended.
They have come under public attack following their journey to Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Pilgrimage at the same time while the state celebrated the June 12 Democracy Day without the state leaders presence in the state.
The PDP and NNPP have accused of unseriousness in governance for abandoning their state responsibility and neglecting the people to their faith amidst current insecurity bedeviling the state.
The leaders of opposition political parties in the state expressed their misgivings on the decision of the state governor, deputy, speaker and assembly principal officers, all female Permanent Secretary as well as the majority of the state executive members to abandon the state for Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
An elder of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the state Alhaji Umar Danladi Abdulhamid described as political disaster, abuse of democracy and unseriousness of government for the Governor , Deputy Governor and other key officers to abandon the state without transmitting power in line with the constitution , saying that it is not a good omen for the state.
