Former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, has dismissed as misleading a poster circulating on social media claiming that he is contesting the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Media Adviser and Consultant, Terver Akase, Ortom described the claim as “completely false,” “baseless,” and the handiwork of mischief makers bent on spreading confusion and misinformation.

The statement stressed that Ortom has no ambition to contest the 2027 presidential election, adding that he has consistently maintained that he would not seek any political office in the forthcoming elections.

Akase urged members of the public to disregard the poster entirely, insisting that it was fabricated to mislead unsuspecting citizens and create unnecessary political speculation.
