Ortom warns aspirants against blackmail, thuggery

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has strongly warned against blackmail and use of thugs by any aspirant in the forthcoming Governorship primaries of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP.

Governor Ortom who gave the stern warning at an enlarged caucus meeting of the party held Sunday, May 15th, 2022 at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House, said the party will deal decisively with such aspirant(s).

It should be noted that the PDP governorship primaries in the State is slated for 23rd May, 2022 even as 14 aspirants will jostle for the party’s flag.

The Governor also, assured all aspirants in the forthcoming primaries scheduled to elect candidates for next year’s general election of fairness and transparency, insisting that he does not have any anointed candidates for any of the elective positions.

He reaffirmed his readiness to support and work with candidates that emerge at the primaries, saying the victory of the party in the 2023 polls was his major preoccupation.
