Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and ten state governors are to attend the 10th Nupe Day celebration that is slated to begin on 10th November, 2018 at the ancient city of Bida.
The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger state Traditional Council, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar at a press briefing in Bida said the activities for this year’s event have been increased to include marathon race, boat regatta, agricultural exhibition and cultural day.
According to him, the governors expected at the occasion along with the vice president includea; Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Nyesom Wike of Rivers and Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state.
Others are Nasir El”Rufai of Kaduna, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina, Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos, Yahaya Bello of Kogi and Ibrahim Dankwabo of Gombe state.
The Nupe Day festival which commenced in 2008 has been celebrated annually for the past 10 years without break.
