The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has declared that he is on course to win the August 15 governorship election, expressing confidence that voters will embrace the party’s development agenda.
Oyebamiji made the declaration after accompanying former Osun governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, on a visit to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
The APC flag bearer said he was optimistic that the people of Osun would entrust him with the mandate to govern the state, adding that he hopes to return to meet President Tinubu again as a serving governor.
“By the grace of God and the support of the people of Osun, I remain confident of victory in the coming election,” Oyebamiji said.
He maintained that residents of the state remained committed to the progressive ideals championed by the APC and would support the party’s efforts to continue delivering development.
“I believe that the people of our state are committed to the progressive vision that has brought development and prosperity to many communities. With their support and the grace of God, we shall emerge victorious and continue the task of building a better Osun,” he stated.
Oyebamiji described his visit to the President alongside Oyetola as an opportunity to reaffirm the party’s commitment to progressive governance and national development.
According to him, President Tinubu remains a source of inspiration for members of the APC across the country.
“I had the honour of joining our leader, Dr Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola, to pay homage to our father and national leader. President Tinubu remains a symbol of progressive leadership and national development,” he said.
The governorship hopeful stressed that his ambition was motivated by a desire to serve the people and improve their welfare through people-oriented policies and programmes.
He pledged to provide purposeful leadership, expand development initiatives and improve living standards if elected governor.
“In the coming year, I hope to return for this same noble visit as the governor of our dear state. I look forward to joining other progressive governors in continued service to our people and the advancement of our shared vision for a greater Nigeria,” he added.
Oyebamiji also disclosed that consultations with stakeholders, community leaders and residents were ongoing across Osun State as part of efforts to consolidate support ahead of the election.
The APC candidate emerged as the party’s flag bearer after securing overwhelming support during the governorship primary and is seeking to lead the party back to power in Osun in the forthcoming poll.
