Our suspension politically motivated, Azman Air says in a leaked document

Azman Air Services Limited has alleged that its suspension by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA is politically motivated.
The company, in a leaked document sighted by Peoples Daily yesterday, the company said there is personal vendetta in the suspension of its operations, which was not have to do with the breach of the aviation rules as stated by the NCAA in a statements.
The company, in the document, alleged the suspension is not based on the reasons gave by the NCAA, but a vendetta by the Director General of the NCAA.
The document further revealed that Azman Air had not received any warnings prior to actions taken against it nor has it been queried.
It added also that it has provided sustenance for thousands of families and had remained obedient to the authority in all its years of existence.
“Azman Air has not been sanctioned nor has it any bad records with the authority before the coming of this DG for a revenge since 2014. We are opportune to have worked with about 6 NCAA DGs in the past, but his DG is nowhere close to his predecessors in terms of delivering the mandate of his office. He is just looking forward to his personal benefit not NCAA or its hardworking staff. There was no invitation for hearing notification, query or any explanation for the reason of our suspension. Due process has not been followed.
“Therefore we are urging the general public and our teeming esteemed passengers to bear with us, while we are taking all necessary steps towards resolving this matter with appropriate authorities” part of the leaked statement reads.
Recall that the NCAA had on Monday announced indefinite suspension of the Kano-based airliner over alleged violations of safety and caution measures.
According to statement signed by Director General of NCAA, Captain Musa Nuhu, the suspension was to enable general audit of the airline operation and to henceforth determine whether or not the airline is fit to operate.
“Following series of incidents involving Azman Air Boeing 737 Aircraft, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has pursuant to Section 35 (2) of the Civil Aviation Act, 2006 and Part 1.3.3.3 (A) of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations 2015, suspended the operations of all the Boeing 737 Aircraft in the Fleet of Azman Air Services Limited, with effect from March 15, 2021” the statement said.
