At least over one thousand All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters
were said to have decamped to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Gombe state.
Speaking through the leader of the decampees yesterday in Gombe,
Alhaji Babawuro Barambu told the leadership of the PDP in the state that the aim and objective to join the party was to liaise with the incumbent governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, in order to move the party forward.
According him, they have realised the transformation agenda of party, where the governor has contributed immensely for the development of the state.
He assured the governor of their support which according to him, they would do anything possible to ensure that the governor is re- elected in 2015 general elections.
Speaking further, Barambu said all the sub- groups that decamped to PDP would do their best in order to restored the good work that
Gov. Dankwambo is doing in 2015.
Receiving the decampees, the PDP chairman Gombe state Mr. Shaabu Babasabulu acknowledged that their defection to PDP was not a surprise, given that they have seen the good work of PDP rendering to the people.
He directed PDP local government chairmen to, as a matter of urgency, issue PDP membership cards to the defectors, to enable them become authentic members of the party and advised them to be good ambassadors of the party.
Responding, governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo appreciated with the effort of the defectors promise to carry them alone in administration.
He called on them to be dedicated and loyal to the party.
