National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun, has expressed his support for a non-profit women and youth empowerment initiative founded by wife of the Executive Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Aisha-Nse Adamu Candido.
Receiving board members of the non-profit organisation ‘Non-Stop Empowerment and Girls Education Initiative’, in his office at the APC National Secretariat on Friday evening, Odigie-Oyegun said the empowerment initiative represents the “true spirit of the APC” in ensuring social inclusion and catering for the poorest and vulnerable Nigerians.
At the meeting, the APC National Chairman accepted to receive an “excellent leadership award” which will be formally presented to him by the non-profit organisation at a graduation ceremony for beneficiaries on Thursday 28th September.
“I am very glad, very impressed by the magnitude of efforts that you have taken. I saw the long list of beneficiaries, who have learnt skills as a result of which they are now basically independent and can fend for themselves. So it is an effort that needs to be recognised. I want to thank and congratulate you and say that you represent the true spirit of the APC which is making sure that Nigerians can take care of themselves, particularly like you said the widows and the orphans. Those are the margins of society.
“I want to say because of that, I will be glad to attend the graduation ceremony and accept the award. I think it will be good that at the highest level of the party, we solidarise with you and identify with what you are doing and let the whole world know that you are a true reflection of the high ideals of the APC.” Odigie-Oyegun said.
Also speaking at the meeting, wife of the Executive Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the Federal Capital Territory and Founder Non-Stop Empowerment and Girls Education Initiative, Aisha-Nse Adamu Candido disclosed that at the graduation ceremony, equipments will be presented to the grandaunts.
