Pat Utomi expresses disappointment with LP lawmakers conducts

Prof Pat Utomi has expressed his disappointment with Lawmakers elected on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) conducts.
LP is the third largest opposition party in the country after its Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi came third in the 2023 general elections with many Lawmakers at both states and National levels elected on its platform.
Peoples Daily reports that to many Nigerians who are dissatisfied with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), LP has come to represent a fresh hope for the country.
But, since its inauguration the current National Assembly which include some members of the LP, it had been enmeshed in controversies which presents it as not been in tune with the economic reality of the country.
Taking to his X to express how he feels about the LP lawmakers not taking different position from other party lawmakers, Prof Utomi writes: “ we cannot call for a new way and not show example with our actions.”
He said he been unhappy with many Labour Party Lawmakers conduct.
“The Party must show integrity and understanding of the fact that Nigeria and its democracy are both failing because of the failure of the parties. “
