Patients desert hospitals in Katsina

Date:

From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina

Our correspondent who visited some of the public hospitals in Katsina metropolis observed that most patients were moved by their relatives to private hospitals to continued medication.

At the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Katsina our correspondent met the entrance to the hospital under lock and key with security personnel denying people access to the hospital buildings.

Similarly a security man at the gate told our reporter that “people are not allowed in because no medical services are going on due to the doctor’s strike. All patients were move out by their relatives.”

Also at the General Hospital out patients were seen going back home disaapointed as there were no doctors to attend to them while those on admission were either moved to private hospitals while those without financial means have went back home.
