From Mustapha Adamu Kano

North-west Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the governor of Zamfara state, as being insensitive to the plight of the people, in the wake of the recent killings of over 40 people in the state.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the party’s Zonal Working Committee meeting, jointly signed by the National Vice Chairman of the party, Ambassador Ibrahim Musa Kazaure and the Zonal Secretary, Joseph Gumbari, and made available to news men in Kano yesterday, condemned the action of the Zamfara state governor for abandoning his people at the time when his attention was needed in the state, but rather chose to go on political frolic.
The opposition party also strongly condemned the recent killings in Zamfara state, describing it as callous and clear demonstration of dastardly acts.
The party called for the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators of the evil act.
The PDP, however, expressed confidence that it is determined to wrest power from the APC- led government in the country and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop henceforth the registration of under age children across the country, and equally called on persons that had attained the voting age from 2015 to come out enmass and register.
It commended its members for their resilience and sincerity of purpose in standing up to the challenge of wresting power in 2019 and stressed the need for them to unite and forge a common front in attaining such a goal in the times ahead.
In the same vein the North-west chapter Publicity Secretary of the party, Malam yusuf Adamu Babura commended party members for expressing their resolve in making the Zonal Working Committee a huge success and described the press as genuine partners in progress and the quest for re-positioning the party on a sound and promising pedestal.
