Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, have lauded their colleague in Taraba State, Governor Agbu Kefas over his initiative for peaceful coexistence amongst the various ethnic groups in the State.
This, the PDP Governors maintained, has enabled a seamless delivery of service through assertive policies and programs by the Taraba State government, hence creating a viable platform for wholesome economic development for all.
The PDP Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) made the commendation in a statement
Sunday by its Director-General, Hon CID Maduabum on the occasion of Kefas’ 54th birthday celebration.
The Taraba Governor’s administration’s vision and strategy, they argued, is already touching education, agricultural development and agro-based production, health infrastructures upgrade and service provision, roads infrastructure and urban renewal as well as improved security for lives and property.
The PDP Governors identified other areas that the administration of Kefas has touched to include; civil service upgrade and implementation of approved minimum wage, job creation, talent and skills development for youth inclusion, women empowerment, drive for Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) and ICT via the promotion of digital literacy programs, and e-commerce platforms to enable small businesses to reach a broader dimension, among others.
The statement by the PDP-GF reads, “The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, under the Chairmanship of Senator Bala A. Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, on behalf of the member Governors, felicitates Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, as he turns 54.
“The Forum heartily joins members of his family, friends and associates in thanking the Almighty God for His blessings of wisdom, good health and protection upon him, in his private and public life.
“As he settles down to the task of leadership in Taraba state, we congratulate him on his victory at the Governorship Election Tribunal.
“His vibrant participatory role in the affairs of the Forum aided his being entrusted to lead the party as the chairman, PDP National Campaign Council for the November 11 Bayelsa Governorship Election, a decision that has further proven his diligence at work.
“The Forum delightfully commends his early service to our country throughout his career in the Nigerian Army, a development that in no small measure, resultantly transmitted to exemplary leadership skills in the day to day running of the affairs of Taraba State since May 29, 2023.
“His initiative for peaceful coexistence amongst the various ethnic groups in the State is worth mentioning, moreso as it has enabled a seamless delivery of service through assertive policies and programs by the government, hence creating a viable platform for wholesome economic development for all.
“His administration’s vision and strategy is already touching education, agricultural development and agro-based production, health infrastructures upgrade and service provision, roads infrastructure and urban renewal, improved security for lives and property, civil service upgrade and implementation of approved minimum wage, job creation, talent and skills development for youth inclusion, women empowerment, drive for Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) and ICT via the promotion of digital literacy programs, and e-commerce platforms to enable small businesses to reach a broader dimension, among others.
“Based on this secure foundation, it was easy to roll out his timely and sustainable 10-point ‘Palliative Care’ initiative for Tarabans on the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government; and coupled with the ‘Operation Clean Taraba and Waste Management’ programme that is temporarily engaging 10,000 Youths and women for a period of 6 months, with monthly stipends; the bar of governance in the history of the state, has been raised.
“We pray that the Almighty God continue to bless him with more grace and the capacity to continually lead Taraba State to greater heights, development and growth”, the PDP Governors said.
