PDP group to youths: Don’t expect automatic power transfer from elders

From Osakhare Erese, Asaba

The National Coordinator of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Alliance, Dr. Charles Omimi, has called on the youths to show exemplary lifestyles, be disciplined at all times, acquire knowledge and work harder towards taking over the leadership of the nation, saying that as leaders of tomorrow, they should not expect automatic power transfer to them by the elders without strategic efforts and hard work. He spoke during an interview session with Delta State members and stakeholders of the Youth Alliance in Asaba yesterday.
The national coordinator stated that the aim and objectives of the PDP Youth Alliance include to ensure that Nigerian Youths are groomed property and adequately nurtured for the leadership of the country in due course, describing the present leadership and economic situation of the country as highly unacceptable and no longer in time with the norms in a contemporary society.
He said that it is imperative that our youth should brace up for the leadership challenges ahead and the problems currently confronting the country due to the poor and unfocussed government put in place at the federal level by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dr. Omimi lauded the tremendous positive impact made by the Governor Okowa administration within the past three years in office, as well as his contributions towards the growth and development of the party and success of the recently concluded PDP National Convention at Abuja, adding that “the Delta State Government has done a lot in the areas of youth and women empowerment, bridging the inequality gap between the women and men in the party, apart from other opportunities created by the Okowa administration for the emancipation of the people generally”.
