The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Lamido as an exceptionally patriotic Nigerian, a highly resourceful, courageous and forthright leader.
The PDP noted that Lamido is a leader
who has continued to make huge sacrifices towards the unity, stability and progress of our dear nation.
The party said this in a statement yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan in Abuja in which it celebrated Lamido on his 73rd birthday.
The main opposition party recalled that as Minister of foreign affairs, Alhaji Lamido exhibited uncommon expertise and patriotism in promoting and defending the nation’s interest in various sectors, on the international arena.
The statement by Ologbondiyan reads, “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congratulates former Governor of Jigawa State and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Sule Lamido, as he celebrates his 73rd birthday.
“Alhaji Lamido is an exceptionally patriotic Nigerian, a highly resourceful, courageous and forthright leader, who has continued to make huge sacrifices towards the unity, stability and progress of our dear nation.
“As minister of foreign affairs, Alhaji Lamido exhibited uncommon expertise and patriotism in promoting and defending our national interest in various sectors, on the international arena.
“He further displayed his dedication to duty with his exceptional performance as Governor of Jigawa State, where he repositioned the state to achieve unprecedented milestones in human capital and infrastructural development in critical sectors of life, in line with the manifesto of the PDP.
“Furthermore, Alhaji Lamido has remained a pillar in our great party in our collective effort with Nigerians to rescue our dear nation from the misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
