The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured party faithful across the country that the main opposition party has moved past its period of legal uncertainty and is now actively rebuilding to emerge stronger ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, declared that the party is focused on strengthening its internal structures, restoring stability, and deepening reconciliation among members.
Hailing last Friday’s ruling by the Federal High Court, Senator Ohuabunwa noted that the court’s decision directly aligns with earlier precedent set by the Supreme Court.
He stated that the verdict should serve as a definitive signal for any remaining aggrieved factions to accept the reality of the PDP’s leadership structure.
As the conscience and moral compass of the party, the BoT confirmed its full commitment to upholding the rule of law and respecting the latest court rulings.
Addressing lingering leadership friction within the party’s advisory organ, Senator Ohuabunwa issued a stern warning against unauthorized claims to the BoT leadership.
“The BoT fully respects and accepts the Federal High Court judgment and will continue to respect the rule of law.
“Any other person parading himself as the Chairman of the PDP BoT is a criminal impersonator that will be made to face the full wrath of the law soon,” Senator Ohuabunwa stated.
Looking ahead to the upcoming national political cycle, the BoT Chairman called on all party leaders, elders, and grassroots supporters to embrace collective responsibility and genuine reconciliation.
He reiterated that the PDP is actively putting necessary measures in place to solidify party unity, stabilize its administrative machinery, and position itself as a formidable force ready to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
