The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency of Taraba State, Alhaji Muktar Galadima, has donated a 35KVA electricity transformer to Unguwar Ciki community in Ibi Local Government Area.

Galadima presented the transformer to the community on Sunday as part of efforts to address the prolonged electricity blackout caused by the breakdown of the community’s previous transformer.

Represented by the Director-General of the Galadima Campaign Organisation for the 2027 general elections, Mr Zando Hoku, the PDP candidate said the intervention followed repeated complaints by residents about the power outage.

He said the prolonged blackout had negatively affected economic and social activities in the community.

Galadima also pledged to support the provision of additional basic and social amenities in the area, saying he remained committed to addressing challenges affecting residents.

Receiving the transformer on behalf of the community, the Sarkin Ibi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Danbawuro III, commended Galadima for responding to the residents’ concerns.

The monarch said the donation would provide relief to residents who had endured difficulties resulting from the prolonged power outage.

Danbawuro urged sons and daughters of Ibi, particularly those in positions of influence, to emulate the gesture by supporting projects that would improve the living conditions of residents.

He commended Galadima for responding to the community’s complaint within one week and prayed for divine blessings for him and others who contributed to the project.

Some residents who spoke with our correspondent described the donation as timely and significant, expressing optimism that the transformer would improve electricity supply to a substantial part of Ibi town.

The residents also urged constituents in the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency to assess political leadership based on tangible contributions to their communities rather than campaign promises.
