Perm-Sec to assist EHORECON resolve internal challenges

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Environment, Dr. Bakari Wadinga has promised to assist the staff of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Council of Nigeria (EHORECON) to resolve lingering issues in the Council.
A statement issued yesterday by Kehinde A. Openibo, Head, Press and Public Communications for Registrar of the Council, said the permanent secretary made the disclosure while addressing members of staff and management team recently at the Council’s conference room in Abuja.
Dr. Bakari Wadinga requested to know the linkage between the Council’s functions as it relates to the current issues of Lassa fever in the country, while charging the Council to forward a detailed report of all the issues enunciated for possible solution.
Earlier, the head of Human Resource Mr. Victor Mba who also doubles as overseer of the Council enunciated some challenges the Council is presently being faced with, which also affects the running of the Council, as the inability of government to reconstitute the Council’s board and also the challenges of Council relying on rented apartments across the country.
Mr. Mba, however, informed the Permanent Secretary and his team that the Council has offices in the Six Geo-political zones of the country and that there are 12 liaison offices across the country to assist the council in carrying out its mandates, he posited.
