The Chairman of the Petroleum, Environment and Solid Minerals Degradation Awareness Association (PESMDAA), Dr Robert Adah, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, declaring it a beacon of hope for Nigerians.

Speaking at a tree-planting sensitisation campaign themed “Plant an Economic Tree and Restore the Earth” in Abuja on Wednesday, Adah urged grassroots support for Tinubu’s vision.

“Our president has brought about the re-hope agenda, and we are here to back him up,” he said.

Adah highlighted the campaign’s significance, noting that the newly inaugurated national executives of PESMDAA would drive advocacy in petroleum, environment, and solid minerals sectors.

He said “These sectors are the backbone of any nation’s economy,” he emphasised.

The association aims to curb leakages and unaccountability in these critical industries, complementing government efforts.

“We will help mandated agencies police these sectors, report loopholes, and boost internal revenue generation,” Adah added.

He expressed confidence in PESMDAA’s nationwide structure, spanning national to local government levels, to facilitate information flow and enhance government and security agencies’ proactive measures.

Adah assured that the association’s operations would bring significant economic improvements.

“The government will be happy with our contributions,” he stated.

Plateau State Commissioner Kumshi Yunana Kumshii praised the state governor’s partnership with PESMDAA to tackle illegal mining and vandalism but called for deeper collaboration.
