A petition has been submitted to the Nasarawa State Judicial Service Commission (JSC) calling for an investigation into the conduct of Mr. Musa Jimoh Alonge, Director of Enforcement in the Nasarawa State Judiciary.
The petition by Zangina Media Consultant, addressed to the Chairman of the Commission and Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Bashir-Aliyu, raised concerns over what it described as alleged acts of misconduct and abuse of office said to be linked to Mr. Alonge.
According to the document, the petitioner urged the JSC to set up an independent panel to look into issues relating to enforcement of court orders, management of land-related disputes in Karu and Mararaba, as well as general staff welfare matters.
The petition further suggested that some of Mr. Alonge’s activities may have raised questions of propriety and called for his suspension pending the outcome of investigations, in line with the Public Service Rules. It also recommended the establishment of a permanent Land Dispute Resolution Committee to address rising conflicts in parts of the state.
While the petitioner alleged instances of selective enforcement, irregular staff transfers, and business interests linked to the official’s family, no evidence of wrongdoing has been established at this stage. The call was simply for the Commission to investigate in order to preserve public trust in the judiciary.
The petition emphasized that it was filed in the interest of accountability and to safeguard the integrity of the Nasarawa judiciary, noting that urgent steps would help prevent further erosion of public confidence in the justice system.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Mr. Alonge nor the Judicial Service Commission had publicly responded to the petition.
