PG moves to settle APC crisis in Imo

The factions in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State may soon be a thing of the past as the newly elected President-General (PG) of Imo Community in Abuja (ICA), Barr Maxwell Uchenna Alaeto KSM informed that he has concluded all arrangements, not only to make peace and proffer solutions to the problems in the party, but also promised to unite the warring factions of the party in the state.
As a former Public Relations Officer (PRO), a position he held before he was elevated through election into his present position, he said that he had been planning to wade into the crisis as a politician, but added that God has given him a platform through which to ensure that the problem is settled once and for all. . The PG however added that with the intervention of God and co-operation of the caliber of people in the executive, according to him, the crisis would be a thing of the past.
The leadership of the community is rotated into three zones of Okigwe, Orlu and Owerre and the Orlu zone whose turn it was to present a leader last two weeks elected Alaeto to the prestigious position having served in the immediate past executive as PRO.
He spoke to pressmen shortly after first executive and inaugural meeting of the Community in his house in Abuja, Saturday.
Calling on all the indigenes of the state resident in Abuja to join hands to ensure that they succeed in fighting common goal of promoting unity, love and progress, Barr Maxwell Uchenna Alaeto informed that he had three point agenda of continuing the struggle for a land in Owerre for the building of Abuja Estate for members; building of civic center for the community in Abuja where members would be using doe events at little or nothing as well as for an avenue for the Community’s meeting; and massive membership drive by ensuring that Chairman and Secretary of each community in Abuja have direct assess to the Association, just as he commended the past executives for performance and promised to continue where they stopped.
The immediate past PG, Chief Ike Obasi, the leader of Okigwe zone, HRH OJC Anyanwu, Owerre zone leader, Dr Ofoegbu and the First Vice PG,
Since Sam Okoro similarly advised him to continue where his predecessor stopped; go for massive membership drive; be committed in the unity of the indigenes in Abuja, seek the elders’ advice on need, as well as see himself as a servant and ensure that he involves God in the leadership of the people, which if done, according to them would make the sky his limit.
