Physically challenged persons commend Buhari, want disabled included in governance

The President Joint National Association of People With Disabilities(JONAPWD) and Vice Chair person, West African Federation of Disabled(WAFOD) Judith Ekaette Umoh have again commended President Mohammed Buhari for his magnanimity in signing into law the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities Prohibition Act in Nigeria, calling on him to ensure that physically challenged people are made part of his executive as it is done in the civilized world.
Speaking in an interview with our correspondent in her office yesterday, Ms Umoh explained that more talents for nation building could be found in over 27million people across Nigeria with disabilities adding that since the law is now ready government, private and public individuals and institution should be ever willing to do the needful in matters affecting peoples with disabilities.
Ekaette who is also a member, African Disability Forum(ADF) said she will continue to champion the course of people with disability as no nation could ignore such population and make progress in governance.
She further spoke on her expectations from the Buhari government for the next four yes, said, ‘We hope to see many people with disability in key position of government as it is done in civilized countries of the world, we hope to see ministers, special advicers,heads of government institutions as well as many other key positions of government’.
