The police have arraigned four men in an Abuja Senior Magistrates’ court Wuse Zone 2, for alleged  joint act and public disturbance.

The prosecutor, Anigbo Paul, told the court that a police patrol team attached to the Lugbe Police Station, Abuja, arrested Moses Sechere, Titus Ikwagh, Rapheal Ugwu and Abubakar Usman, all of Tudun Wada village, Lugbe, while they were fighting.

According to Paul, their action constitutes a public disturbance to the people of the area.

He told the court that the four accused engaged in fighting with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, thereby endangering the lives of people in the area.

He said that the offence contravened the provisions of the Penal code.

They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mr. Simsola Ademiyu, granted them bail for N100, 000 and two sureties each in like sum.

Ademiyu ordered that the sureties must be resident and work within the court’s jurisdiction.

He adjourned the case until July 23. (NAN)
