No fewer than eight suspects have been arrested by the Benue State Police Command during the yuletide period.
A statement by the Police Public Relations’ Officer SP Catherine Anene and made available to Peoples Daily said the arrest were made at different locations in the state between 28th December, 2022 and 2nd January, 2023 and recovered arms and other stolen items from the suspects.
According to the statement, among the eight robbers and kidnappers that were arrested, six were apprehended along Adikpo – Jato-Aka road; one at Tse-Kpum, Vandeikya LGA and one at Ogene junction, Otukpo – Ugbokolo road.
“Items recovered from them include; one locally made single barrel gun, a head mask, a military camouflage and one motorcycle stolen from the same robbery scene.”
She said the State Commissioner of Police Wale Abass lauded the men and urged them to brace up for the forthcoming general election.
