Police Arrest Notorious Drug Dealer, Recover Blocks of Indian Hemp in Katsina
The Katsina State Police Command has arrested 37-year-old Ibrahim Usman, a suspected notorious drug trafficker in the state.
A statement issued by the command spokesman, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu said that the suspect was arrested in possession of large quantity of illicit substances.
“On July 20, 2026, at about 8:00 PM, operatives of the Command, while on routine visibility patrol along the Mashi to Birnin Kuka border axis intercepted and arrested the suspect based on credible intelligence.
“Upon a thorough search, the suspect was found in possession of twenty-eight blocks of dried leaves strongly suspected to be Cannabis sativa.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed to trafficking the illicit substance with the intent to distribute and sell it within Katsina State and beyond,” the statement added.
The command said that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigation.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ali Umar, has reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to the fight against drug peddling and abuse.
He warned drug traffickers and criminal elements to desist or face the full wrath of the law.
The police commissioner appreciated members of the public for their continued support of the ongoing fight against crime and criminality across the state.
