The Police, in B Division Paikoro police station in Minna, the Niger state capital, has arrested a syndicate who claimed to be a Commander-General of Elites Community Initiative Corps of Nigeria, who was arrested after a complaint by some young applicants who defrauded about 700 applicants running to millions of naira.

The syndicate, identified as Olu John Bello, specialized in defrauding innocent applicants of their money, promising them of recruitment in to the NGO security outfit going about some states of the federation as the commander general of the corps.

Investigation by our reporter revealed that he, Olu, was once an officer of the corps, but was dismissed February 4, 2014, due to his fraudulent activities; he was arrested with his personal letter-headed paper, titled: Elites Mission International (EMI), which he used in carrying out his dubious activities, charging his victims between N5,000 to N25,000 on the pretext of being the National Commandant of elites corps.

The Police has immediately commenced investigation in to the matter while the suspect remain in the police custody at the time of filing this report.
