A suspected job racketeer, Abdulrahman Junaidu has been arrested in Funtua, Katsina State for allegedly defrauding and issuing fake employment letters to two unsuspecting young men, Abdullahi Abubakar and Isiya Iliyasu.
This was contained in a statement by the Head of Corporate Communication, Kaduna Electric, AbdulAzeez Abdullahi, and made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
The statement stated that the bubble burst when Abdullahi Abubakar and Isiya Iliyasu presented fake employment letters for documentation as new employees at the Zaria Regional Office of the Company.
The statement stated that the Security Division of the Company in collaboration with the Police trailed Abdulrahman Junaidu to Funtua where he was eventually arrested by the Funtua Division of the Police.
The preliminary investigation conducted by the Police revealed that the said Abdulrahman Junaidu was working with one Aliyu Sani from Sokoto, who is currently at large, to defraud unsuspecting members of the public of millions of Naira.
The Kaduna Electric spokesman said the Company shall leave no stone unturned to ensure that the suspects face the full weight of the law.
“It has been established that the duo of Aliyu Sani and Abdulrahman Junaidu have been fraudulently issuing fake employment letters and other sensitive documents of Kaduna Electric, a practice that is not only morally reprehensible but also criminal; we shall ensure that the culprits are brought to justice,” he said.
He advised members of the public to be wary of fraudsters and report such criminals to the Company.
According to him, the Police are on the trail of the second suspect, Aliyu Sani who is the mastermind of the employment racketeering, and the duo will soon have their day in court.
