Barely 24 hours after the Edo State House of Assembly served an impeachment notice on the State Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu, security has been beefed up in the house.
The House which served the impeachment notice on the Deputy governor said he has seven days to respond to the notice.
Meanwhile, members of the Edo State Security Networks, ESSN, armed with guns took over the front of the house and its surroundings.
Peoples Daily reports that as of yesterday, staff of the House were being screened as well as their vehicles by the security personnel of the House
It would be recalled that staff of the assembly without identity cards were denied access to the premises of the House.
Some personnel of the Edo State Security Network and those of the House of Assembly were at the entrance gate to enforce the “No ID entrance order.
A civil defence Hilux vehicle that was stationed by the fence of the National Museum which is directly opposite the House of Assembly later drove off.
