The Kano State police command,has confirmed arrest of 35 suspects for various crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, car theft and others.
Disclosing this on Monday while speaking on behalf of the state commissioner of police, Mr.Salman Garba Dogo, the Police Public Relation Officer ( PPRO) SP Haruna Kiyawa said the command has achieved notable successes in its efforts to combat crime, with 19 cases of arrests and recoveries in the past month.
He stated that the command has arrested a total of 35 suspects in connection with various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, theft, drug dealing, and fraud.
Accordong to him,” The recovered items include dangerous weapons, stolen vehicles, solar batteries, mobile phones, and counterfeit currency.
Given the breakdown ,he disclosed that “ The arrest of five suspected armed robbers on August 12, connected to a robbery incident at Hotoro Quarters, Kano, with a motor vehicle and locally made gun recovered.
Others included the “ arrest of two suspected kidnappers on July 18, and the rescue of two kidnapped victims in a deep forest in Gubuchi Village, Makari LGA, Kaduna State.
While the arrest of five suspected thieves on August 27, with five solar batteries recovered in Warawa LGA, Kano.
The PPRO also added that “ The arrest of two mobile phone armed robbers on August 26, with a sharp knife and stolen mobile phone recovered in Dorayi Quarters, Kano.
” The arrest of three suspected drug dealers on August 26, with 98 pieces of Exol tablets and a block of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp recovered in Yan-tagwage Quarters, Kano.
However,the command commended the unaloyed support and useful assistance been received from the state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf adding that this noble gesture has gone a long way in boosting the morale of the command in achieving laudable goals
Also,the command then urged members of the public to continue to furnish the command with useful and necessary informations that would pave the way for the command in confronting those criminal elements within the state
The command has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting crime and ensuring the safety of citizens in Kano State.
